Floorball for the Hockey Player

Are you a serious hockey player? If so, then let us introduce you to a fantastic sport to complement your dry land training and provide for off-ice fun and excitement!  Floorball provides excellent dry land training for hockey players and its merits are becoming well documented in North America. Organizations like Hockey Canada, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Durham Hockey Institute and the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey School are involved with the sport. Many European born NHL players use floorball as their dry land training of choice. Stars such as Marian Gaborik, Mats Sundin and Henrik Lundqvist play floorball.

Why Floorball?

 - Floorball is fun, fast, and inexpensive  – requires only a stick, sneakers, shorts and a shirt to play. Ice not required.
 - Floorball is ideal for improving agility, hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular fitness.
 - Emphasis on speed, skill and technique.
 - Take your stick and ball with you on out-of-town hockey trips. Better than knee hockey. Play with your teammates between games.

Game_2 A WORD OF WARNING -

Slap shots are a no-no. The stick must remain below the waist and the ball is played below knee level at all times. There is no body contact in floorball. You can’t block, lift or lock your opponent’s stick. Remember, this is a game of speed, skill and technique, not physical size. And it’s fast – there are no offside or icing calls. If you want to be able to “stick handle in a telephone booth”, then this is the game for you!
